Sleep Deprivation Leads To Aging In Adults

Sleep Deprivation Can Lead To Aging In Adults
Did you know that one night of partial sleep deprivation can promote biological aging in adults?
University of California conducted a new research study which proved that one night of not sleeping well can make adults grow old faster.
In the study, the researchers gathered information of 29 adults aged between 61 years and 86 years over a four night period. They analyzed the quality of the sleep and took blood samples of the adults simultaneously to access gene expression.
‘The results showed that a single night of sleep troubles activated gene patterns consistent with faster aging,’ as stated in ANI.
In support of the same, author Dr. Judith Carroll at the UCLA Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology in Los Angeles said ‘Our data support the hypothesis that one night of not getting enough sleep in older adults activates important biological pathways that promote biological aging,’ in a written release.
So, one must ensure they get 8 hours of proper sleep to avoid aging.
