Ten people were killed and scores of others injured as protests against the new citizenship law turned violent in Uttar Pradesh for the second consecutive day on Friday, taking the death toll in the state in the last 48 hours to 11. UP DGP O P Singh reiterated that police had not fired a single bullet even as several of the deceased and injured, including cops, had gunshot injuries.
