Explained: Why Chandrayaan-2 will focus on Moon's South Pole

The Isro successfully launched its second lunar mission — Chandrayaan-2 — getting one step closer to joining an elite club of nations that have landed probes on Moon. While it will take another 48 days for Vikram, the lander, to soft-land on Moon, Monday's launch has Isro in good spirits, given the fact that the agency had to cancel the launch on July 15.
