The Modi government’s bid to provide 10% quota for the economically weak crossed an important hurdle on Wednesday with the Rajya Sabha approving the bill with a margin of 165-7, a day after the Lok Sabha cleared the legislation. With the parliamentary process complete, the law can now be notified by the President.
