PSLV-C44 launch: Here’s why this mission lifted off at midnight

“Launch time depends on the requirement of the satellite. They wanted the satellite to cross south to north of equator around noon, maybe due to sunlight condition. Our launcher goes from north to south of the equator. To meet the requirement, we needed to have a night launch,” said K Sivan, Isro chairman. Microsat-R has been designed for military by DRDO.
