Taking a stern view of the ongoing operation to rescue 15 trapped miners in Meghalaya, the Supreme Court on Friday slammed the administration saying that the authorities "failed" to make serious efforts at the beginning. The court also directed Centre to file a status report on action taken and progress in the operation to rescue the trapped miners by January 7.
