Several telecom company executives told TOI that Aadhaar's biometric facility "is still being used" as it is "one of the most convenient and user-friendly ways to on-board customers without the hassle of paperwork or time-consuming authentication". A senior official at UIDAI said that telecom companies may be at variance with the SC order.
