No dependent visa for same-sex partners in US

The Supreme Court of India recently ended criminalisation of homosexuality, but marriage of same-sex couples is still not permitted in India. In this backdrop, countries like Canada, Australia and the UK prove to be friendlier as their immigration laws recognise conjugal cohabitation between samesex partners, provided the couple has lived together for a certain number of years.
