Prompted by excess rain in the Cauvery basin this year, Karnataka has revived its efforts to build a balancing reservoir across the river at Mekedatu, near Kanakapura. The state government last week sent a feasibility report to the Central Water Commission (CWC). But Tamil Nadu government has written to the PM,seeking his intervention to stop the project.
