There is no expectation in New Delhi that China will change its way of functioning. China is no longer interested in playing safe or playing nice or hiding their ambitions. Inevitably these ambitions are coming up against India’s own ambitions and strategic space. Negotiating this without coming to blows is the intent of the summit.
