In Uttar Pradesh, there is no dearth of dons and dynasties — scions armed with money and muscle power — taking the electoral plunge. What is noticeable this time though is their humongous concentration on the eastern fringes of the state, better known as Purvanchal, which is poverty-stricken and backward.
