Maoists stepped up violence in Bastar on Sunday, triggering six IED blasts in Kanker and attacking a patrol party in Bijapur a day befor polling in the state. A BSF officer, sub-inspector Mahendra Singh, was killed in one of the explosions. Polling will be held in 18 constituencies of eight Naxal-affected districts under unprecedented security cover.
