In its first official confirmation, Facebook admitted that personal data of up to 87 million of its users was improperly shared with UK-based political consultancy Cambridge Analytica. This is way higher than the previously estimated 50 million. The company also said that data on most of its 2 billion users could have been accessed improperly.
