Chandrayaan-2 enters lunar orbit. Here’s the Moon landing plan

"Our heart was almost stopping", was how Isro chairman K Sivan described the tense moment when team Chadrayaan-2 attempted to inject the spacecraft into the lunar orbit. In a major milestone for Isro, Chandrayaan-2 spacecraft entered the Moon's orbit early on Tuesday (Aug 20) and is scheduled to soft-land the spacecraft’s lander, Vikram, with a probe on Sept 7.

India's e-tourist visa fee based on tourist footfall

To encourage tourists to visit India, the ministry of tourism has introduced a flexible e-tourist visa regime based on tourist footfall, with higher fee for July to March peak season and a considerably lower fee if the visit to the country falls during April to June lean period. Five-year visa will be introduced with $80 fee and a one-year visa with $40 fee.

Chandrayaan-2: Moon landing at 1.55am Sept 7

"Today, we've crossed a major milestone. The precise LOI (Lunar Orbiter Insertion) manoeuvre carried out at about 9am for about 30 minutes has put Chandrayaan-2 in the desired orbit perfectly. In order to achieve the soft-landing on September 7, there's a unique requirement. The inclination of spacecraft needed to achieve an inclination of 90 Degrees," K Sivan said.

Bengaluru girl reveals motive for killing father

A 41-year-old apparel businessman whose burned body was found in his Rajajinagar bungalow was murdered allegedly by his 15-yr-old daughter and her 19-year-old boyfriend. The Class X student reportedly resented her father for objecting to the relationship and for curbing her use of cellphone and social media. Police said she admitted to killing her father to “get my freedom back”.
